Edith and Ernest Doswell had been married for 1 year when their only child was born in 1908. Her name was Edith Dora Doswell, but she was known as Dora to avoid confusion with her mother.
The first England Census after her birth was in 1911 and we see from this document that Ernest (26), Edith (25) and little Dora (2) were living in 2 Beverley Cottage, Lower Brook Street, Basingstoke. Ernest worked as a Coach Painter at the Motor Works.
I don’t have more information about the family, but there are some photographs of the three of them. These were taken in 1925.
