New Beginnings

I haven’t written here for a few months, I lost my focus and concentration for a while following the accident to my home in February. This is the photograph of my house then:

car crashand this is it now:

Jackie's damaged house 002It’s still all boarded up, waiting for the insurance money to come through so I can instruct my builders to begin work on restoring my home. I’ve been living in it during this time, except for when I escape and visit my daughter and stay with her and my son-in-law for a few days. It has made me very aware of the importance of family. My son has taken on the responsibility of dealing with the insurance company and getting builders quotes.

I have ignored my blog, and was surprised to log on today to find that people have been ‘visiting’ every day! So, I think it must be about time I got my act together, and began writing again. I would like to thank my family and friends for their incredible support at this time. As I say – the importance of family has been on my mind during this time, and it feels appropriate to begin looking back again, at past generations to see how they came together during hard times. I love them all.

About Jackie Dinnis

Welcome to my blog where I am enjoying meeting my family - past and present - one at a time. Join me as I learn who my ancestors were, where they lived, what their occupations were and what everyday life was like for them.

  1. You poor thing I had no idea. Does your insurance company not provide an alternative accommodation whilst they get themselves organised? I do hope there is some resolve soon. Absolutely family is important and glad they are giving some respite.

Thats awful. I wondered why there had been no posts. A big hug from TheBigForest.
