I’ve been a bit quiet for the past week, but as usual when I go quiet it just means I’ve been very busy! I recently had a visit from my lovely cousin Sue, who brought over two biscuit tins full of old family photographs. I have been left with them for a while, and am taking very good care of them. All my time has been spent looking through these photos, scanning them into my computer and trying to organise them into files so that I can find them again when I look for them!
There is nothing like the joy of sharing family photographs, it is just so exciting when a family member sends images of your shared ancestors and you ‘see’ them for the first time. I always try to be generous in sharing my photos, and I really appreciate it when others reciprocate.
I have tried to learn from past mistakes, and instead of scanning everything in and leaving it in one file, I am labelling as I go. One at a time. There is no real hurry, so I am taking my time and enjoying looking at the images as they pass through my fingers.
There are so many special pictures, and of course I will write about them later. At the moment I am lost in the past and am really enjoying it there! Here are one or two of the photographs I have been scanning in.
