Blogging 101 Day Four
Oh dear, I suppose it had to happen. The assignment that I couldn’t do. There are two parts to the task for today, the first is to publish a post you’d like your ideal audience member to read … so far so good! Then include a new-to-you element in it. Hmm, that’s going to be tricky. The ideas are to embed a video or add something from Pinterest or Instagram.
This could go badly wrong, so bear with me. I’m going to try to embed a video, but I guess it has to be relevant to a post I’d like my ideal audience member to read.
Is it there? It was meant to be a short video of Brighton in 1966. I chose it because my blog is about my family, and we have strong connections with Brighton since 1836.
In case that didn’t work, I shall try to post something from Pinterest. It is relevant to family history.
My ideal audience member would be someone from my mothers’ family. So, here is my post to you:
I’ve been brave and put myself out here on the world-wide web because I’m trying to find as many members of our family as possible. Over the few years I’ve been looking I’ve found lots of us already and more surprisingly lots of you have found me! I never thought you would have been looking for me.
I have always wanted a photo of my maternal grandmother, Queenie Cockett. I did meet her once or twice but never had a photo for various reasons. I know she had my mother when she was unmarried, and had to give her up for adoption. Of course this led to so much bad feeling on Mum’s side.
But those years are long gone, as is Mum, bless her. Now I am intent on finding as much about her family as possible and would be grateful if you could help in any way. Any photographs you have, or memories, old stories perhaps, all will be welcome.
And to those of you I have recently met, and who gave me so many photographs of my grandmother – thank you! Here we are at our last meeting.
