A Very Welcoming Door

Today the advent door is one that always gave me a very warm welcome. It’s the home my parents moved to when Dad retired, just along the road from where I was living with my family.

I would go here often, and Dad would always be outside the front door to welcome me, and when I left he would stand there waving until he couldn’t see me any more.

In the school holidays I would take my children along and there would always be toys and colouring books in the cold weather and in the summer we would all go and play in their back garden.

 

In particular I remember playing ‘Swingball’ a lot!

It was certainly a door that opened onto a very welcoming and loving home!
