A Seaside Door

Marine Avenue, Hove

Marine Avenue, Hove

Today’s door is 5 Marine Avenue where we lived from 1986 for about 20 years. At the back of the house is a lovely park, and at the bottom of the road is the seaside. It was a lovely place to bring up our children, having the beach so near and the benefit of two parks was wonderful.

21 dec ll5 - CopyLooking at street directories for Hove (Kelly’s Directory) in 1949 it shows that the house was a Rest Home/nursing home.

The park that backed onto the house had been there a long time.

Wow, it looks a lot less built up around Wish Park back then!
