Door 16 and a Fancy Hairdo!

24 dec 1971Advent Calendar door number 16 and it’s that photo of me in our front room again, with the boring wallpaper, bird on the wall and a special haircut!

This made me think of Christmas and how you like to look your best for parties and family get togethers. I didn’t often have my hair done in a special way when I was growing up, and I wonder what was going on in 1971 when this photograph was taken. Why was I all dressed up and smart with a fancy haircut? I must have been about thirteen years old. The only other time I remember having my hair done like this was a couple of years later when I was a bridesmaid for a friend of the family. Here I am:

Seeing these photographs gives me an idea and I think I’ll try to get my hair done again for Christmas!

Hmm. Maybe I’ll get my hair trimmed for Christmas – time permitting.
